Pom Pom Purin Cafe Singapore Review
Sunday, May 8, 2016

Hello everyone!
In today's post I'm going to be talking about my experience at the newly open Pom Pom Purin Cafe (Singapore)! Seems like lots of characters cafes are coming to Singapore... and that also means long queues, and a hole in pocket T______T

Went there on a Sunday afternoon and the queue time was about 2h.
On a side note, they could have issued queue numbers instead of letting the customers waste time standing outside to queue. I've seen cafes like Sunday folks using some sort of system in the ipad as well so customers can go walk around first and they will send a text to the customer when it's about to be their turn. Isn't it more efficient that way? hmmmm.

Lots of pom pom purin details!

And also the iconic mascot in the middle of the cafe.
The cafe wasn't as big as what I expected though, it's pretty small. Probably about 18-20 seats only?

We were lucky enough to get the sofa seats and it's pink somemore *_____*
My sister is having a hard time deciding what to eat because the ones with the cup are more expensive than those food that are mould into pom pom purin.

I went for the most expensive stuff on the menu - Carbonara Spaghetti $26.99
The portion looks kind of little from the picture, but there's actually quite alot of noodle and surprisingly, it tasted better than pastamania's one LOL. (And yes you get to bring home the pom pom purin mug!!!)

Cookies & cream vanilla latte $11.99
I wanted to get the mango soda but it's sadly out of stock :(
The drink is not bad, but the price is wayyyyyyyyyyy too much for a drink. I'm only ordering it for the coaster because you can bring home that as well HAHAHA.

Ended up my sister decided to go for the Taco Rice! ($19.99)
Stole a few bites, and I think the rice is a little too hard? I guess it need it to be solid enough to be moulded into a pom pom purin. I still prefer my spaghetti though.
The total bill added up to about $86 for 2 person, pretty expensive. But this kind of thing... you know you are only paying for the photos la hahahaha.

Ending off with a shot with the pompom purin family!
And nope, I'm not going back again because I could go for a good buffet with the amount of money spent here. However, if you're a foreigner visiting Singapore, this cafe is worth a visit :)

Once again, another ulu cafe around the HDB estate.
I've never seen this on my instagram feed surprisingly until my sister keep on telling me about this cafe. She just keep goes on and on about the shibuya toast LOL so I decided to jio her to the cafe before I go for my work interview.
First impression of the cafe... very simple with not much decorations except for the white bricks wall and the quote on the wall below:

Constant quote for myself lol! #whocaresaboutfats

The selection of gelatos - some unique ones are yakult, matcha kitkat, orhnee (yam)
and thai milk tea.

A selfie while we wait for our food.
There was an one for one offer so we ordered a waffle and shibuya toast to share and the total bill adds up to about $12+ish. Waiting time was about 15 minutes.

Shibuya honey toast with a scoop of cotton candy and drizzled with honey! I LOVE THIS SO MUCH OMG I CAN EAT TEN OF THESE. I kind of prefer this compared to dazzling cafe's one (in terms of both taste and price)

Charcoal waffle with Orhnee and Thai milk tea served with valrhona white chocolate ganache sauce.
I didn't really like the Orhnee because the taste is too strong for me and the thai milk tea was a little too bitter, but if you love flavorful authentic flavors you're going to love them.
imho, the toast was much yummier than the charcoal waffle. The charcoal waffle is just not my thing :x The texture was good though - with a cripsy exterior and fluffy interior.
Will I go back again? Only if I happen to pass by that area, and only for that shibuya toast!
(P/S: If you're wondering why does the ice cream looks so melted, it's because me and my sister are taking too much time to take photos LOL)

Buck Tile St. Cafe Review

Finally gave this cafe a visit! It took me a really long time because this cafe is really far from my house. But their blue velvet cake and waffle kept on appearing on my instafeed to tempt me T____T

A little vintage corner of the cafe filled with people's bucket list.

They also have a shelf that sells some really unique stuff like these cards! Aren't they adorable?

Mangosteen & Pear tea ($5.90)
What I love is the tea presentation - makes me feel like a taitai lol. The tea smells really good too!

Truffle fries ($7.90) tasted soso for me only.
I'm a huge fan of truffle fries and if I go to a place that serve truffle fries, I will definitely order it. But sadly, it's really hard to find a place with yummy truffle fries. Most of them are like your normal fries soaked in truffle oil and with a little cheese sprinkles mehhhhz. The best truffle fries I had was at Stranger's Reunion. IT WAS SUPER DUPER NICE I CANNOT FORGET THE TASTE. You have to try it yourself! But of course the price is slightly higher than your normal truffle fries.

Ordered their signature Blue Velvet waffles ($11.90 *the price for 1 scoop of ice cream) with two scoop of ice cream - salted caramel and vanilla.
THIS IS LIKE THE BEST THING ON EARTH DAMNNNNN.
Waffle was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside; the blue velvet syrup tasted like heaven omg I've no idea what isit but it tasted like bubblegum/cotton candy?! And the color is so chio somemore!!!! How can anyone not like it?!
Cafe overview:
I love how the serve up really unique flavors (who has thought of blue velvet?) for their waffles and cakes and also how active they are on social media because I really hate cafes that MIA so much on their social media platform and nobody knows whether they are close for the day for some unforseen circumstances or what and make me made a wasted trip down -_____-
The only down side of the cafe is the location. It's located in the middle of no where literally LOL. When I alighted at the bus stop, the first thing that I thought to myself is "Did I alight at the wrong stop? Who the heck open a cafe here?!" So unless you drive, it's a little troublesome to locate this cafe.
(P/S: Don't mind my not very professional photos because I was dining with people that I ain't that close with I didn't dare to take up too much of their time to take photo, I paiseh lololol!)
