A letter to dad.

Saturday, November 29, 2014

-------------------

Dedicating this post to my dad because it has been almost 4 years since he left. He didn't left any words behind and because it was all so sudden, I didn't manage to tell him the things that I've always wanted to say. So let this letter do the talking.

See you guys in the next post xo

NEW Essential haircare range!

Sunday, October 26, 2014

*Advertorial*
I was super excited when I received the set of hair products because Essential just relaunched with a brand new packaging, improved formula and also a new variant!

My family has been a big fan of Essential previously and my mum and sister has been using Essential shampoo previously except for me because I have oily scalp and I couldn’t use any shampoo that are rich in formula. However, I have been using their hair mask for a year now and I super love it!

Do you actually know that our hair gets “immune” to the effect of the shampoo? This explains why we should constantly switch our shampoo.

Many of us have combination hair in Singapore due to the hot and humid weather here and I believe most of our combination hair will fall under the “Oily scalp and dry ends” category.

Previously, Essential only has two variants: Pink & Orange. But now, Essential is available in 4 variants to suit all hair needs and types:

Nourishing Breakage Defense (orange) – for weak & damaged hair
Moisturizing Frizz Free (pink) – for dull & rough hair
Light Finish Volumizing (yellow) – for flat and limp hair
Deep Cleansing Care (blue) – for oily scalp & dry ends (new)

Out of these 4 variants, the yellow and blue variants have technology that caters to people with combination hair – oily scalp/roots yet dry ends.

I did a short hair profiling survey and they sent me the Deep Cleansing Care series for my hair because I have really oily scalp and my ends are just a little dry.

Deep Cleansing Care (blue) variant has the lightest formula and is suitable for people with very oily roots, followed by Light Finish Volumizing (yellow) variant.

If you don’t know which shampoo to pick, ask yourself the following questions and choose from the matrix below:

1. Do you have oily hair roots/scalp?
2. Do you have dry/damaged hair ends?

I have been using the deep cleansing care shampoo now and it’s controlling the oiliness of my scalp very well!! Previously, no shampoo can control my oily hair and those shampoos make my ends extremely dry like some hay -____-

But with the deep cleansing care shampoo and conditioner, my hair has no more dry ends and it’s also tangled free! I super hate tangled hair because you have to spend time combing through the tangled hair and sometimes it takes EXTREMELY long because it’s soooooo tangled. Sometimes I don’t even bother combing through them because it’s so troublesome lol!

But HEYYYYYYYYY NOW I NO NEED TO FACE TANGLED HAIR ANYMORE and my hair became much smoother! *flips hair*

The new Essential haircare range is available from mid-September 2014 at leading supermarkets, hypermarkets, western pharmacies and personal care stores.

Price:
Shampoo $4.50 (200ml) / $11.50 (750ml)
Conditioner $4.50 (200ml) / $11.50 (750ml)
Hair Mask $9.90

You can also redeem free samples of the Light Finish Volumizing shampoo & conditioner
(yellow variant) at http://on.fb.me/1pkXmPr

Dolly WInk Guinness World Record Breaking Event

Sunday, October 19, 2014

A few weeks back I attended the Dolly Wink Guinness World Record Event with Mariam and I was super excited cox you get lots of Dolly Wink goodies for only $10?! If you are a fan of Dolly Wink you would have known that the usual price of their products is >$20 on average.

MY LOVE FOR DOLLY WINK!!!! <3

It’s also a super meaningful event because they help us each purchase a pin in support of the Breast Cancer.

And I was also excited cox I get to see lots of pretty bloggers like Rachell, Miyake, Xiaxue and Shu an!! Super love Xiaxue cox she’s so pretty and petite even after being a mum! I saw her shopping at Scape after the event but I didn’t dare to approach her for a photo lol but also because I didn’t want to disturb her shopping la hahaha.

Pardon my photos because I sat all the way at the corner so I didn't manage to have a very good view of the stage. Didn't brought my zoom lens out also :x

Just in case you didn’t know about Dolly Wink, Dolly Wink is a cosmetic brand by Tsubasa Masuwaka and they focused a lot on fake lashes.

She was previously a Popteen model and she’s also super petite and pretty lah! #ENVY

I look up to her a lot because she’s so successful, having her own cosmetic brands and now even a clothing brand call EATME. She came to Singapore last year for some Shibuya girls event, but sadly she didn’t came over this year Okay back to the event!

George and his sunshine smile!

To cut short, the whole event is about having the most number of people wearing fake lashes and they were rather strict because they didn’t allow us to help our friends and we had to do it ourselves. I wasn’t confident in putting them on because I seldom wear them although I bought lots of fake lashes lol but I seems like an expert on that day for some reason HAHAHA.

I think Mariam was having some trouble because she never ever tried on fake lashes before and also cox her natural lashes is already long lah, hate this kind of people lor! And she looks like drag queen with her fake lashes HAHAHA Kidding la I still love you <3

There was also a few guys at the event, mostly dragged along by their girlfriends LOL. George Young was also there to support the event and he even put on eyelashes!!!

FLUTTERING LASHES LOL.

They were also selling the new series of Dolly Wink lashes which would only be launch in Singapore next year and they were also selling many Dolly Wink products at cheap prices! But it was swept out really fast and everyone was just pushing here and there .___________.

Here are the new series:

I managed to get myself a pair of the new lashes though!! (I bought no. 24!)

Loving the new series because they are super natural! And as usual, the lash bones is super soft which doesn’t makes it uncomfortable even after wearing it for a long time.

Currently I’m working on my (probably last) Japan post. In the meantime, do watch my Japan Vlog Part 3 if you haven’t!

Happy Birthday

Sunday, September 28, 2014

Celebrated my sister's birthday today and her friends actually "collaborated" with me to throw a party over at our house! It was a pretty last minute plan because I only knew it on Thursday and I had to do it secretly because it was meant to be a surprise for her.

I actually wanted to order delivery or something cox it's much more convenient but I ended up cooking instead. So I went out the night before to the supermarket and bought all the stuffs back and I hid the soft drinks in my room cox I knew my sister would suspect if she saw them cox I don't usually drink soft drinks. Thank you Joyce & Lincoln for carrying them back for me!

I was in the kitchen preparing the food while the kids were outside blowing balloons and cutting papers.

Behind the scenes.

Packed goodies for the guests to bring home!

PARTY TABLE!

Designed a menu at the very last minute to make the table a little prettier!
Stole the "Happy Happy Birthday" off Kikki's newsletter cox it's quite pretty lol. (But I only used it for my own use ok)

Final set up of the table!

Waiting for my sister to come in...
Caption says it all ah lol.

Cutting the cake...
PRETEND ONLY I WAS DOING THE JOB LOR.

Looking extremely unglam so I covered my face but practically my job was to do saigang.
I was really the slave for the day lor! Cook, cut cake, throw rubbish LOL XINYI YOU OWE ME ONE I KNOW YOU'RE READING THIS.

I think I cut the cake well though!

Loving this photo because it's so colorful and happy!

And last but not least,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY DEAR BURDEN SISTER !

「夏祭り」2014

Tuesday, August 26, 2014

Hello everyone!!
(Before I start, I just created a Facebook page for my blog so please show me some love by liking it ok!!! The Facebook gadget is just on the right :D THANK YOU HEHEHE -hug-)

I'm finally having my holidays so I headed to the Japanese primary school on Saturday with Lynn for Natsu Matsuri!! If you don't know what is that, it's translated into 'summer festival' which is a festival where you get to dress in Yukata, play games and eat all the good food.I missed the one last year so I was all hyped up for this year one LOL.

Went like 3 hours earlier and there are already people queuing under the hot sun already. Thank god for company if not I swear I'm gonna be so sian there. There was a girl behind us alone and I wonder how she tank for that few hours :x
Hoboing outside the school with Lynn.

FINALLY GOTTEN OUR TICKETS !!!!

As expected, everything here is pretty much overpriced as you can see from the price of the mask :(
IT'S LIKE FREAKING $10 FOR A MASK. But I guess people still buy it because it's like a once in a year thing so just yolo lol.

What's a festival without cotton candy and popcorns?

You can actually rent a Yukata there for a small fee if you don't have your own!
I actually wanted to rent but the queue was way too long and I was already so sick of queuing outside so I didn't join the queue.

Were extremely hungry so we went to get some Takoyaki before we headed to the big field.

$3 for 4 small balls which I finished each ball with a mouth, but customer service -thumbs up- #japanrocks

The little kids are so cute omg.

Little performers on the main stage!

We didn't have any mat so Lynn just sat on the grass while I sat on a plastic bag, we all really hobo mode :x

BUT WHO CARES HOBO STILL CAN SELFIE :D

Bought curry rice and Lynn had some boiled squid noodles for dinner.
and more selfie:

My iconic fishball cheeks LOL

There were game booths too but I didn't try any because I'm super bad at games, confirm lose everything one lol!

Everyone is so intensely looking at the players o.o

Left around 7 because Lynn need to head back home early so we didn't manage to join the Bon dori at the end but it was still a fun day afterall! :D

Btw if you haven't watch, Japan vlog part 2 at Disneyland is up!
